- Saddam Sentenced to Death – VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!
by Mark Faulk Today, Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging by an “independent Iraqi jury” for crimes against humanity.
So why do I have this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach?
Don’t get me wrong…Hussein deserves everything he gets, and personally, I hope he rots in Hell for the things he’s done to the people of Iraq. But there’s something incredibly disconcerting about the timing of the sentence, coming only days before the mid-term elections. Instead of feeling jubilation about justice being served, it only reinforces my feelings that everything…EVERYTHING…in the world is now controlled and manipulated by a small group of people who believe that our citizens are nothing more than pawns who can be moved in any direction to fit their greedy plans.
It’s a sick world when even the trial of one of the worst killers on the planet is timed to win elections.
Just yesterday, I wrote an article with the headline “How Low Can They Go?” and today, that question was answered. Does the Administration really believe that Americans are so stupid as to fall for the most obvious political ploys ever perpetrated on our country?
Gas prices dropping to below two dollars….gas prices controlled by the same oil companies who have collectively screwed the poor and middle class for years by gouging us at the pumps, putting their own selfish greed ahead of our country’s bests interest even in a time of war.
Do you really believe that the prices will stay this low AFTER the election?
The Dow Jones hitting record highs just days before the election, while behind the scenes, the biggest stock market meltdown in history is festering like an angry volcano. Corruption in the stock market is being masked by blatant manipulation of the indices, most likely propped up by the by now infamous "Plunge Protection Team"…while the SEC and their cohorts on Wall Street quietly destroy the evidence by moving forward to eliminate paper stock certificates…our last shred of evidence that proves that the stock that we “buy” is actually being delivered to us.
Does anyone really think that this stock market, riddled with corruption and driven only by greed, will stay anywhere near current levels AFTER the election?
And now….Saddam Sentenced to Death – VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!
Forgive me if I’m not dancing in the streets in false celebration of the blatant manipulation of every single event in our world. No, this is no time to celebrate…it’s the time to wake up and see what our elected officials in Washington are doing to us, it’s time to return some balance to our political process. I’m not implying that the Democrats are blameless in the mess that our country is in, for it’s true that those who do nothing also bear responsibility for the actions of those who do wrong, but it’s time for a change.
We have to…I repeat…HAVE TO…return our political process to a system of checks and balances. And we have to do it in such a profound way that all the vote-rigging in the world can’t overturn the results, we have to do it in a way that sends a clear message to Washington.
In the next thirty minutes, President Bush go on national television and declare the Hussein verdict a “major victory in the War on Terror.” He will try to be appropriately presidential, but will be barely able to suppress his glee. He will attempt to act humble, but his redneck Texan bravado will be obvious in his body mannerisms and swagger even as he walks to the podium.
Our only hope is that America will see through these obviously politically-driven tactics, that we can read the writing on the wall, that we have learned from our own past mistakes.
If not…well, I don’t have the stomach to even imagine the consequences of giving Bush and company a mandate to continue to “stay the course,” fully knowing that our country is on a collision-course with disaster.
And that’s the Faulking Truth.
