- The Music Died Again!
   by Linda C. Wilson

How are you guys doing on day two, after the music died? I'm waking up to some thoughts today, and one nagging idea is that I must not watch MSNBC and CNN and think that these are fair and balanced. All these guys must want jobs in the Bush Administration, because they don't like the losers...ooh, that would be us, the Democrats.

On Day Two after the Music Died, I am hearing echoes of Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan saying that the Democrats never had a chance this year. They phrase it in different ways, but they are laughing and smiling, like it was all a big game, and the little whiners, that would be us, never had a prayer.

These guys and many others on TV and in the papers, explain why the Democrats were losers from the beginning with Kerry, that Kerry never survived the Swiftboat Liars, that Kerry never defined himself and let the Bush smear campaigns define him, and Kerry just played defensive ball all along.

I hear that the Democrats ran the most expensive and negative campaign in history, and lost big because of this negativity. I hear that America didn't want to wake up on 11/3 with two lawyers in the White House. I hear that Kerry was too educated and polished, aloof and disconnected, and that his windsurfing and snowboarding and hunting didn't work for him, it just showed that he was entitled, a big rich show off.....and on and on it goes, ad nauseum. The pile on is similar to College Football Saturday, once our guy goes down, any and all opposers can pile on the guy who is down even though he cannot possible get up and run again. Just in case, one or two jump on the pile just to make it higher and more fun!

What I am not hearing is anything truthful and pertinent about the Bush Campaign. I heard that the "soft money" poured in for the Democrats and we really used it, because of a huge loophole in the campaign finance laws. Oh, how did this law get passed and when? On Bush's watch. Did the Republicans take advantage of the loophole? Of course, big time. What we don't hear on TV now is anything about the real problem of the Republicans being in power for another four years: Mainly, that they did steal Florida in 2000, using a purged felon list that was more than flawed; it was rigged, it was a crooked deal.

This same list orchestrated by Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris, paid for by the taxpayers in Florida, was used to install Jeb Bush in the midterm election of 2002. No one could figure out how Jeb Bush got so many votes in Florida in 2002 because he was hated, deep hot hate. The TV shows are not laced with tidbits of this, or special news reports about the problems in 2004 in South Florida, mainly Broward and Palm Beach Counties!

All the talk is about rich Kerry and attorney Edwards, never had a chance on the coattails of Howard Dean, never had a chance against this WAR PRESIDENT! War president? OK, set this scene in your mind: A guy is selected to be president, let's say a spoiled oil baron's brat who never did a lick of honest work in his life, just lied and whored, blew snow up his nose, easy to get 'cause his daddy was flying it into America on CIA planes....ok....you with me?

Now this guy's got "name recognition" and money, some touched by Saudi Oil Prince hands, oily money, tee hee..... and the neoconservatives, who have been rising to power for 30 to 40 years, at war against all things liberal, run this jerk for President, because this jerk, we will call him George, claims to be a Born Again Christian. After years of screaming that hippies were commies, beatniks were commies first, they really were and proud of it....after years of this indoctrination of the shekel, the neocons have made the word "liberal" as nasty as porn to the far right-wing base.

With hate radio and unfair and unbalanced Fox News running 24/7 in the rural homes and on used car lots, the message was pounded home to the ill-informed: These smart lefties are trying to steal all your money through taxes and those pesky "programs and services" like Headstart and Social Security! Never mind that the rural people all have enjoyed the benefits of Headstart and Social Security, plus good roads, strong prisons, ready armies and good schools, never mind that! The right-wing agenda is to tear down the liberal programs, take that tax money and give it to the wealthy, while telling the rural people, middle class and lower class righties, that the "liberals have destroyed our nation and have taxed you to death!" The Bush Regime and far right conservatives like them, Reagan specifically, want to tell you that the liberals are taking us into Hell. No, not War...War isn't Hell to the neocons, it's Heaven. I know, I know,...world on fire, upside down, how did this happen!!!

While the Reagans and the Bushes have destroyed the economy on their respective watches, the Democrats have come in and kept the peace and balanced the budget. Yet the Bushes score higher and get credit for being moral, God fearing, Flag waving patriots while the liberals, that would me, are called socialists, traitors, baby killers and many names that are much, much worse.

How does this happen? I think it happens because the GOP isn't grand anymore, but it's worked its plan and people believe the spin. Many people, obviously from Nov. 2nd's vote, believe that God is with the Republicans, that God hates gays and God talks to George W. Bush! On TV, we hear over and over what Kerry did or didn't do to win the election for the sad old liberals, but we do not hear the truth about the lies that took us to war, the real expense of the war, the deaths of the Iraqi citizens and their wounded and maimed, the deaths in Afghanistan, the rise again of the Taliban, the money that Saddam used to build his palaces.

We gave Saddam WMD, then, we went to war to destroy them, when we knew that these were gone, gone on Bush I's watch, gone mostly on Clinton's watch. God forbid that you ever hear that Saddam disarmed primarily on Clinton's watch. NEVER, because that would be positive press coverage of THE F''''ING LIBERALS. That just cannot happen on the right-wing media.

So I see the pundits laughing and slappin' each other on the back, saying the Democrats lost because they had no leader, no focus, but never a word like, "Well, America, you are in for four more years of the same, probably because of rigged touchscreens, huge redistricting schemes by the conservatives in many states, and just plain good old fashioned voter intimidation, dirty tricks, and disinformation down at the wire, such as false exit polling, holding back of results in Ohio and South Florida while naming the entire western USA as RED for Bush, showing Bush on election day, his every move on TV and every word covered 100% with a spattering of Kerry on the campaign trail near the end. You showed a smiling waving Bush and a humble, exhausted Kerry. You showed a hootenanny for Bush ready to party big time and a near empty hall poised for defeat at the Kerry campaign. It was so slated, so bias, so sad. Sad because all of this was on TV before the all the polls were closed?

While CNN and others gave lip service to not calling the election, they called it for weeks for Bush, with just a little time given to spin it as if Kerry were going to win, just to confuse the people and make it look even better for poor George, like he worked hard and pulled it off at the end, in spite of those meanies on the Left. The press made Bush look like a little guy in trouble, with the big old bad Kerry standing over him at the three debates, just not giving poor George a chance to speak his way, in code, like uh, erm...well, duh...ah, I'm working hard, sez Georgie. Yes, we think you were working hard, but we would like a president who can do this job without whining all the time that "Listen, folks, you know, this is hard work!" If I hear that again, I'll hurl my cookies!

My point, and I do have one, is this: Why is there so much about Kerry and how he lost it? Where's the true reporting about Republicans stealing elections and looks like they did it again? Where's the story about how the 9/11 Investigation proved that there were no real WMD, and therefore, Bush's reasons for war were false, war with Iraq was unnecessary and invasion of that county by the Bushies was illegal, and Bush and his people are probably going to be indicted for war crimes? Oh, wait, they already are wanted for war crimes, but it isn't on the TV news...Nope! Not one word, just laughter about Kerry hunting and carrying a gun and a goose. Now, we have been treated to Bush carrying a golf club, a very small chain saw, a doggie and a pretzel bag, for four years and all that is eye candy to the faithful Busheep.

But it's the stuff of jokes and ridicule for a man to go hunting in the fall with his friends. It's elite and disconnected for a sportsman, a vet, and a hard working guy on vacation, to go snowboarding, biking, and windsurfing. It is good to have pictures of Bush on a mountain bike, even though he falls off a lot, but it's fodder for satire when Kerry snowboards and does not fall off. Oh, and Kerry on a bike? Not as funny to spin about because, um, er,...well, the President bikes also. Hard to make fun of Kerry biking when the President is getting kudos for biking. So, Kerry's bike riding is not mentioned very much. Conservatives and liberals don't ride bikes the same, it's like night and day, the differences, or....so they tell me!

The news is full of jobs bleeding out of America. The nightly news does not give full account of the money borrowed by Bushies to keep their tax cuts and wars afloat. We are told about Teresa Kerry's ketchup fortune or her hot temper not totally controlled, but we don't hear about Bush's fake ranch that he had ready to move into when he was selected President by the far right-wing USSC in 2000! "Get that ranch ready, my brother Jeb promised to deliver Florida, have cameras ready, whar's mah truck and my doggie, Laura?"

We hear before the final count that GWB was purely begging Rove, "Please let me go accept and smirk and gloat, peez peez peez, huh huh huh!!?" This arrogant bastid Dubya wanted to wave to the crowd of faithful and accept prior to Kerry calling to concede! Put a diaper on that kid and give him a sugar tit, he's wild as the Tanzmanian Devil. Did anyone notice that Bush stayed at the White House to watch election, didn't go to Crawford, his "home"? While we were trying to figure out why so many machines were broken, flawed, rigged in South Florida, the preemptive strikers, the handlers of Bush, Jr., were announcing that they would overhaul social security, firmly install permanent tax cuts for the rich, and further screw up the schools, the forests, the mountains, from sea to shining sea, while eyeing Iran for their next war.

This is the real terror alert and it's blood red: Bush cheated to win in 2000. We don't know how, but more of the same, yet to be revealed, seems to have been accomplished this time. With the pounding of the military drums and the constant misinformation put out by corporate media in bed with the neocons, we have no idea of truth or balance, and even though our future hangs in the balance, we have no idea what these right-wing freaks are up to.

What they tell us is scary enough, what we uncover is often stinky and very illegal, but still, we cannot indict them or jail them, as they control the Justice Department. Bush's best pal, other than his lover, Karl Rove, is John Jesus Ashcroft, who has the nerve to go on TV and sing about God's Angels and Eagles....BARFFFFOLA!.... Bush is very isolated but he takes time to run over and see his head cop, John Ashcroft. This is a man who will never allow the impeachment of Bush, Jr., and neither will the GOP controlled congress.

What is the bottom line to my rant? It is this: We hear about all things wrong with the liberals, while the conservatives march in goose-step to a higher power: Money. War makes money for the wealthy. No, not the captured oil but the other booty, the uniforms, the munitions, the rebuilding contracts, all of that is money money money and mo money for the rich neocons who killed the Kennedy's, and got away with it, humiliated Carter, elevated Reagan, a zero actor, to God status, and impeached Clinton, and smeared Gore, and finally, pretended (wink, nudge) that Kerry might have a chance....and BLAM!!!, at the last second, God and Country, Jesus and George won the day for the real Americans, give me a flag, I'm coming in my blue jeans, start yer engines, people!

I've used some strong language in this because I'm a little upset. I had to look for a cheaper house on 11/3, losing day, the day the music died. I had to think about selling my piano so I could pay my VISA bill and keep my two guitars, strings will have to last awhile, can't have everything. I had to think about aspirin vs. Celebrex, what could I afford to take for my knee and back pain....hm....? Gosh, cheaper to die! I thought about moving to Canada but hate the cold on my bones, would miss my church and friends. I went to church and the priest there told me that he was told that mostly, republicans went to church but the democrats did not! We got a good laugh about that, but he's a nice man, I was not really laughing. I hate the people who are hurting my country and actually, hurting me personally.

Why do we hate others? Because we fear them. We hate people who cause us pain and make us fearful. That's were I'm at, and asking, "Where is the real news, the news about the financing of the Swiftboat Liars, the rigging of election 2000, the truth about the manufacturers of touchscreen voting machines (republicans!, contributors to Bush!).... Where is this news? Why am I watching pundits laugh about John Kerry going hunting. Would this be a joke if it were George W. Bush with a shotgun hunting in the fall with his friends? No, but problem is, George can't fire a shotgun safely, and he has no friends.

George W. Bush is a puppet and a moron, he leads a band of fools who worship money and power, these men are destroying America and all peace on earth, and Bush is their King!

(Dedicated to Rocky Mountain Mary and her daughter, Sarah...keeping hope alive,...on day two, the day after the music died.)
