by Mark Faulk When I started this website, oh so long ago, I thought it would be nice to have a "Guestbook" for our readers to post their pleasantries in....you know, share their opinions, tell us what great guys we are, the usual crap. Instead, we've discussed everything under the sun, and a few subjects that have never before seen the light of day. But today (and I know we've used this line a lot lately) the most amazing thing happened. Six of our regular posters decided to write an imprompto poem, and, beginning with a single line, proceeded to create not one, but two, "works of art" out of thin cyberair. The participants changed from one poem to the next, but the creative flow never faltered (well, hardly ever). One poem is posted here, and the other is reprinted in our "Words" column.
First, "The Caped Crusader" decided we should write something together, "Lillian" tossed out the first line, and we were off and running. It began innocently enough, but it wasn't long before it delved into the desperate depths of depravity (say that five times in a row really fast). But...and here's the good part...it wasn't the guys who went straight for the gratuitous sex, it was Lillian and Zola (aka lyza, aka Lord knows who). Although we, as consummate gentlemen, were of course highly offended, it was, as they say, too late to turn back. We muddled through to "The End", and fought valiantly to protect our ladies' honor, which was more than they ever did (does anyone believe that?). And so, without futher ado, The Faulking Truth presents, uncut, unedited, and uncensored, "Stream of Consciousness Poetry Day":
(Maybe this would be a good time to reprint our disclaimer: Caution: The Faulking Truth contains mature subject matter. Well, actually, “mature subject matter” is probably a misnomer, more like immature subject matter aimed at adults. Adults who act like children, but really aren’t. In any event, The Faulking Truth should not be exposed to actual, chronological, children. They get innundated with too much crap on the internet and porn channels like MTV and BET as it is. And Lord knows I don’t need that on my conscience. It’s hard enough to live with myself as it is.)
