Happy Sunday evening, Faulkers! As the old saying goes, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that March 19th is the one year anniversary of The Faulking Truth, and with your support we've had an incredible year, we're on track to easily break 100,000 hits this month for the first time, and should double our visits and hits from last year. Now if I could just figure out how to turn hits into money.....oh, who cares, you can't put a price tag on telling the faulking truth.
If you haven't read our current articles, do it now, or you'll have to look for them in our archives. All this week, we're going to do something special to commemorate our first year in cyberspace. Every day, we'll be posting some of our best articles from the past year in each column. I probably won't repost the current ones, but visit us each day and take a little stroll down Virtual Memory Lane with us. I will try to add another Blogfest 2005 entry every time I have a manic episode this week, so keep looking for those. Then, on Saturday, we'll post a whole faulking boatload of new articles to jump start Year Two.
And, if that's not enough, we're planning a little Cyberparty in the Guestbook on Saturday evening.....pick your poison and come spend an hour or three with the Faulking Truth regulars. I'll pick everyone up at say....sevenish Central Time? Dress is optional, I mean casual.
Also, over the next um.....few days (that would a "few days" in Faulk Time), we're going to be redecorating the website just a bit. Don't worry, you won't see any bearskin rugs, and there definitely won't be any pics of me dressed in pink fur, despite what some of the girls have requested (let's just say that that would NOT be a pretty sight, and leave it at that). So, if you want to help pay for the remodeling job, don't forget to "visit" our sponsors while you're hanging out with us. We get a penny or two just for clicking on the ads, and it helps us to at least pay for the new lace cybercurtains we're hoping to install. And those virtual interior decorators don't come cheap, either.
And now, unfortunately......for the bad news. March 19th, by some cosmic coincidence, is also the anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq. It's a sad date in our country's history, and we will continue to work towards a peaceful world. In that respect, some of us will be attending the March 19th Peace Rally in Oklahoma City, and would like to invite every Faulking Truth reader to attend either that one, or one of the hundreds of events that are being planned across the country. If enough of us continue to raise our voices against the madness, maybe next year at this time, I'll only have good news to share.......
